  • 70g (2.5 oz) onion, chopped
  • 450g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 80g (2.8 oz) green or yellow pepper, chopped
  • 145g (5.12 oz) red pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (200ml) canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1.5 cups (300ml) beef broth
  • 2 cups (400ml) water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté chopped onion until golden brown.
  3. Add ground beef; cook until browned and caramelized.
  4. Incorporate green/yellow pepper and garlic; stir for a few minutes.
  5. Mix in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, water, salt, pepper, and spices.
  6. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning if necessary; cook uncovered for another 5–10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with desired toppings.
