  • 1 lb sirloin steak or steak tips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the steak with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the seasoned steak for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in flour, then gradually whisk in milk and beef broth until smooth. Add cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  4. Cook tortellini slightly underdone according to package directions. Drain and toss with olive oil.
  5. Grease a baking dish and combine tortellini, seared steak, and cheese sauce evenly. Top with mozzarella.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
