  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold cubed butter and blend until crumbly.
  2. Stir in cold water and vanilla extract until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the chilled dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Fold into thirds, roll out again, and repeat this process two more times for flakiness.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Cut the dough into triangles, place chocolate chips at the base, and roll from base to tip to shape croissants.
  6. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
