  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup mini chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar until combined. Add egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in half of the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are firm and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
