  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet; season with cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar until melted.
  5. Roll out pie crusts on a floured surface and cut into 4-inch circles.
  6. Place a spoonful of filling on each circle; fold over and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
